Nature EdVentures LogoThe Metro District offers a variety of programs to foster responsible stewardship of the environment and our community. These programs offer youth and adults hands-on learning opportunities and encourage viewing our environment in a respectful manner.

Throughout the year, the Metro District’s park rangers and staff offer programs that emphasize education and stewardship of the parks and open space areas in Highlands Ranch. Nature programs and presentations are also available to groups and schools. For more information or to schedule a park ranger to visit your organization, please call the Metro District’s Recreation Services staff at 303-791-2710.

Introduction to Fishing

 

Young boy learning to cast a fishing rodWant some practice before visiting one of our local fishing ponds? In cooperation with local angling experts, fishers of all ages will learn to bait, cast, tie knots, and unhook a catch. Participants will receive a free rod to take home.

Please note: This class will be held on the artificial turf field of Halftime Help Stadium to allow room to practice casting. It is a great introduction before our Free Kids' Fishing Day at Fly'n B Pond.

Registration deadline: Monday, May 27.

Ages: All ages
Fee: Resident: $15     Nonresident: $18
(Discounted group rate available for 3 or more.)
