The Metro District’s summer baseball programs are geared towards the recreational through advanced level ball player. Our leagues focus on learning skills, developing fundamentals, learning rules, and game play/strategies. But most importantly -- having fun and playing with friends.

Type of Play*:

• Age 7-8: Coach Pitch (emphasis placed on development of skills and understanding of rules)
• Age 9: Modified Kid Pitch (players have the chance to pitch on a limited basis)
• Age 10-14: Kid Pitch (recreational league for players of all skill levels)

 *Players ages 7-12 may play up one age group. Divisions may be combined if necessary. Ages 9+ will have an end-of-season tournament included in the fee.

The fall competitive baseball league is for above average to advanced players/teams only. The season includes eight games plus a single elimination tournament.

Each team will be given one practice slot a week. All games are played on Sundays. Teams provide their own uniforms.

• Age 7-8: Modified Kid Pitch
• Age 9-14: Kid Pitch

*Leagues may be combined if necessary or divided into multiple divisions when possible.

Don't have a team? Individual players looking to join a fall baseball team can attend Draft Day at Redstone Park. Participants attending Draft Day are not guaranteed to be placed on a team. Register online using Activity #201117.

The Metro District is proud to offer camps and clinics in association with Diamond Club Training. Diamond Club operates its own facility as a national affiliate of America’s Baseball Camps and is the home of the Colorado Rockies fall scout team. Diamond Club Baseball camp directors are experienced professional instructors with years of playing and coaching experience at the professional and/or college level. They supplement their staff with current college players and elite high school players who have come through their system.

Camps focus on developing the basic fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and defense while also touching on game strategy, defensive positioning, etc. Each day ends with a fun whiffle ball game played with ‘old school’ backyard rules.

Required equipment: glove, bat, helmet, hat and water bottle. Players should wear shorts, sweats or baseball pants and cleats.

Are you looking for a great summer job with flexible hours? The Metro District hires qualified umpires each summer for the baseball and girls softball seasons. Training is provided by a Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) certified umpire, who will go in depth on rules and game situations for both baseball and softball.

Participants choose one of the dates below to attend, during which skills will be learned both in the classroom and on the field.
