Please Pick Up After Your Pet
Pet waste is more than an unpleasant sight when not picked up. Pet waste can be harmful to humans, wildlife and the natural vegetation.
- Roundworm, hookworm, giardia, salmonella and E. coli are just a few of the contaminants that can end up in our drinking water if dog waste is not picked up.
- Dog waste is not natural, is not fertilizer and provides no benefit to soil or groundcover. In fact, since it is often derived from processed foods, it can add excess nitrogen to surface water.
In Highlands Ranch, dog owners can be issued a summons and fined for not picking up after their dog.
