Veterans Day Celebration

Honor veterans at the Highlands Ranch Veterans Day Celebration, 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the Douglas County Libraries at Highlands Ranch, 9292 S. Ridgeline Blvd.

This annual celebration includes patriotic music from the Highlands Ranch Concert Band, a color guard, and special readings about Veterans Day. Our guest speaker will be Lee Frame, a Highlands Ranch resident and 30-year U.S. Navy veteran who served as the commanding officer of the nuclear-powered missile submarine U.S.S. Casimir Pulaski. Frame also spent 11 years working for the U.S. Department of Defense as a senior civilian overseeing the testing of weapons systems for all military services.

Due to roof construction going on at the library, parking in the library lot is more limited than usual. Additional parking is available at the RTD lot across Ridgeline Boulevard. Please use the signaled crosswalk on Ridgeline Boulevard to cross the street.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and visit the Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument, located outside of the library, prior to the event. A focal point of the monument is a special tribute memorial to three very special hometown heroes whose names are etched in stone: Staff Sergeant Christopher Falkel, Sergeant Jon Stiles and Corporal Max Donahue.
