Baseball Skills Camp

Please note: Camps will follow all local and state public health orders. This includes limiting group sizes, symptom checks, and other precautions. If you have questions about specific camp guidelines, please contact Amber at agarrett@highlandsranch.org.

The Metro District is proud to offer camps and clinics in association with Diamond Club Training. Diamond Club operates its own facility as a national affiliate of America’s Baseball Camps and is the home of the Colorado Rockies fall scout team. Diamond Club Baseball camp directors are experienced professional instructors with years of playing and coaching experience at the professional and/or college level. They supplement their staff with current college players and elite high school players who have come through their system.

Skills Camp
Ages 7-12

Register Online NowCamps focus on developing the basic fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and defense while also touching on game strategy, defensive positioning, etc.  Each day ends with a fun whiffle ball game played with ‘old school’ backyard rules.

Required equipment: glove, bat, helmet, hat and water bottle. Players should wear shorts, sweats or baseball pants and cleats.

Fall Competitive Baseball League

Team registration only
Ages 7-14

Play eight games and a single elimination tournament. The majority of games are played on Sundays. In order to fit all games in this year, doubleheaders are possible as well as weekday evening games under the lights at Redstone Park. (No games will be played over Labor Day weekend.)

Practices are once a week on a shared field. Practices begin the week of Aug. 10.

Teams must provide their own uniforms. Game balls are provided. Equipment can be provided if necessary.

Registration begins Monday, June 22. Registration for Fall Competitive Baseball cannot be completed online. To register, call Luke at 720-240-5912.
Team registration deadline – Wednesday, July 29 (teams can select their practice slot as soon as they register, so sign up early!)

Team fee*: max no. of players/team: 13
7-8 year olds $1,600 per team
9-14 year olds $1,800 per team

*$175 deposit due at time of registration; remainder of balance due by Aug. 7.

Register Online NowIndividual players looking to join a team can attend our Draft Day Sunday, Aug. 2 at Redstone Park. 7-10 year olds will try out from 9-10:30 a.m. and 11-14 year olds from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. To participate in the draft day individuals must pre-register online, using Activity #201117-1. Participants attending draft day are not guaranteed to be placed on a team.

The Metro District’s summer baseball programs are geared towards the recreational through advanced level ball player. Our leagues focus on developing fundamentals, learning rules, game play/strategies, meeting new friends, and having fun.

Umpire Training – Youth Baseball & Softball

Ages 14 and older

The Metro District is partnering with the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) to bring umpires a more dynamic training opportunity in May. Certified umpires will go in depth on rules and game situations for both baseball and softball. Includes training on the field and in the classroom.
