Recycling

The Metro District offers a variety of recycling opportunities in Highlands Ranch. Visit this page for details about recycling events as they draw near.

Each year during August, the Metro District and Centennial Water partner with Douglas County, Tri-County Health Department and other local municipalities to present Household Hazardous Materials Roundups. Douglas County residents can drop off household chemicals, fertilizers, batteries, tires, stains and other hazardous materials for a small fee.

The Metro District’s forestry crew offers tree limb and Christmas tree recycling each year in the spring, fall and at the Christmas season. Send an email to info@highlandsranch.org for more information about upcoming recycling dates.

  • Our Spring Tree Limb Recycling event, originally scheduled for May 17, 2020, has been canceled due to the response to COVID-19. Future recycling events will be posted here. Please call 303-791-2710.

The Metro District has also received recycling containers from the Highlands Ranch Park & Recreation Foundation. These containers have been installed in a number of parks around Highlands Ranch.
