Metro District Elections
The Highlands Ranch Metro District holds director elections in May of even numbered years. Registered voters who live in or own property in the Highlands Ranch Metro District may vote in these elections. They may vote for candidates in any region regardless of the region in which they live or own property.
The 2014 election will be held Tuesday, May 6.
You may vote at one of the following polling places Tuesday, May 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Highlands Ranch Metro District Office Building, 62 W. Plaza Drive
- Recreation Center at Eastridge, 9568 S. University Blvd.
- Recreation Center at Westridge, 9650 Foothills Canyon Blvd.
You may also vote by mail using an absentee ballot. Due to recent changes in state law, you will not receive a mail ballot unless you complete a new application for absentee ballot and return it on time. Previous applications are no longer valid. You may obtain an application for an absentee ballot in person at the District Office Building, 62 w. Plaza Drive, by mail if requested or by downloading the application from the link below. A ballot will be mailed to you within 72 hours after receipt of your application.
To become a permanent absentee voter and receive absentee ballots for future Metro District elections, please mark that box when you complete the application. The application deadline to receive a ballot is May 2. The Designated Election Official must receive completed ballots at 62 W. Plaza Drive by 7 p.m. on election day, May 6, 2014.
Five seats are open, four with a four-year term, and a fifth with a two-year term, in each of the following Metro District regions: South Central, Southeast, Northwest, West Central and Southwest (two-year term). To view a map outlining these regions, please click here. Due to the Colorado Fair Campaign Practices Act, the Metro District can not provide information about individual candidates. You may vote for one candidate for each of the specified regions. They are listed below in the order they will appear on the ballot:

Absentee Ballot Information
Voters wishing to request an absentee ballot must complete an absentee ballot application.
Applications will be accepted until the close of business on the Friday immediately preceding the election (May 2, 2014). In order to receive an absentee ballot by mail, applications must be received by April 29, 2014.
