The Metro District’s summer softball programs are geared towards the recreational through advanced level ball player. Our leagues focus on developing fundamentals, learning rules, game play/strategies, meeting new friends, and having fun. Volunteer coaches needed!

Baseball & Softball Clinics
The Metro District is proud to offer camps and clinics in association with Diamond Club Training. Diamond Club operates its own facility as a national affiliate of America’s Baseball Camps and is the home of the Colorado Rockies fall scout team. Diamond Club Baseball camp directors are experienced professional instructors with years of playing and coaching experience at the professional and/or college level. They supplement their staff with current college players and elite high school players who have come through their system.
Required equipment: glove, bat, helmet, hat and water bottle. Players should wear shorts, sweats or baseball pants and cleats.

Skills Clinic
Ages 6-14
Skills clinic features: Defense – outfield and infield play, catching fundamentals, footwork, balance, throwing mechanics, preparation and glove work. Hitting – balance, rhythm, timing, bat speed, power, mental approach and more.

Pitching Clinic

Pitching clinic features: Developing a repeatable delivery, balance, grip, separation, direction, weight transfer, building arm strength and more.

Summer Softball Camp
Ages 7-12
The focus of this camp will be on the five trademark tools of softball: hitting for average, hitting for power, running, throwing and playing defense.

Umpire Training – Youth Baseball & Softball
Are you looking for a great summer job? The Highlands Ranch Metro District is seeking qualified umpires for the 2018 baseball and girls softball seasons. The Metro District is partnering with the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) to bring umpires a more dynamic training opportunity. Certified umpires will go in depth on rules and game situations for both baseball and softball. Includes training on the field and in the classroom.
