10:00 am Prescription Drug Take Back

Safely dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medications Oct. 28 during the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The Take Back event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Highlands Ranch Substation, located at 9250 Zotos Dr., Highlands Ranch.

Items which cannot be accepted:

Neeles and sharps
Mercury (thermometers)
Oxygen containers
Chemotherapy/radioactive substances
Pressurized canisters
Illicit drugs

9:00 am Fall Tree Limb Recycling - Free

It’s time to prune your trees and shrubs. Before you place tree branches and other woody plants out for trash collection, consider recycling them at the Highlands Ranch Metro District’s free fall recycling event.

Accepted material:

  • Tree limbs less than 12 inches in diameter
  • Woody plant material

Material NOT accepted:

  • Finished lumber
  • Non-woody materials
  • Grass clippings
  • Sod
  • Root balls

Free mulch available on site. Residents only – no contractors.

7:00 pm Last Stop

Visit the Mansion after trick-or-treating this Halloween for the Last Stop. This free event will be held outdoors at the Mansion and features live music from Some Diggity, a trick-or-treat stop and a cash bar. It will be held rain or shine and all ages are welcome.
