Get ready for the Ruler of the Railzz competition on Saturday, Oct. 2.


The Metro District has two skate parks for boarders, inline skaters and BMX bikers.

Redstone Skate Park is a 22,000 square foot fenced concrete facility located in Redstone Park. Redstone Park is on Town Center Drive one mile south of C-470 and Lucent Boulevard. It features a beginners bowl, street skating and a snake run with 8' vert bowl. Redstone Skate Park is a non-smoking facility. BMX bicycles without pegs are allowed.

The Tanks Park offers a fun box, a wedge and two quarter pipes. It is located on the northwest corner of South Broadway and Wildcat Preserve Parkway.

Check the bulletin boards at the skate parks for up to date event calendars.

Protective equipment including helmet, knee and elbow pads, shoes and wrist guards are strongly recommended.


Skateboarding Lessons

Local skateboarder Walt Wise is ready to teach you the basic skills of skateboarding. Lessons will focus on safety, proper equipment, sportsmanship, and entry level tricks such as ollies, grinds, and how to drop-in. Participants must be able to ride and balance on a skateboard.

Registration is limited, so sign up today. Lessons are held at the Redstone Skate Park. The class will meet on Saturdays for one hour each day for four weeks. Helmets are required. Class registrations must be completed one week prior to start date.

Ruler of the Railzz Skatepark Competition
Saturday, October 2 at 11 a.m.


The Ruler of the Railzz skatepark competition at Redstone Skate Park provides a competitive event for all skaters in the Denver metro area. This annual event brings out local skaters to compete for the top spot in this area. The contest is open to all ages and abilities with five different divisions in which to participate:

• Beginner Skateboard
• Intermediate Bowl
• Intermediate Street
• Advanced Bowl
• Advanced Street

Entry Fee:
$20 per participant per event. Cash or credit card only (Mastercard, Visa or money order)

Registration:
On-site registration will be held the day of the event beginning at 10:30 a.m. The event is open to the first 15 skaters per division. You must be registered by 11 a.m. to compete in the competition.
