Skyhawks Sport Camps
Registration for Skyhawks programs will be accepted until camp is full or seven days before the camp starts.
Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Skyhawks programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. Skyhawks patient and knowledgeable staff use a variety of skill-building games and activities to give each athlete a complete understanding and overview of the sport. Since 1979 Skyhawks has taught more than one million boys and girls life lessons through sports. Each camp includes quality instruction, a t-shirt and a merit award.
Skyhawks participants should bring appropriate clothing, a water bottle, two snacks, running shoes and sunscreen to each camp. Tiny Hawk – (Parent and Me) –Designed for children three to four years of age, this camp introduces the essentials of soccer. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination, and skill development. Must be toilet trained in order to participate. The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 6:1.
Tiny hawk camps are held from 8 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

Mini-Hawk –This multi-sport program was developed to give four to six-year-olds a positive first step into athletics. Baseball, basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement and fun. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace.

Cheerleading –Skyhawks cheerleading teaches the essential skills to lead crowds and support the home team! There is no stunting in this entry level program—just a big focus on fun while each cheerleader learns proper hand and body movements and jumping techniques. The week concludes with a choreographed performance. All participants receive pom-poms.

Beginning Golf –Campers will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting and body positioning. Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New at Golf) system to its curriculum. SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player; SNAG simplifies instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. All equipment provided. The golf camp will utilize golf helmets for protection. This is a fundamental golf camp.

Flag Football – Flag football is the perfect introduction to America’s Game. Campers learn skills on both sides of the football, including the core components of passing, catching, and defense – all presented in a fun and positive environment. The camp week will end with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl! This is a great camp for those kids interested in playing in our flag football league.

Track & Field – Skyhawks Track & Field combines technical development, fundamental techniques, and safety with a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, Skyhawk staff teaches the fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching, and cool-down techniques. Participants put it all together for one fun-filled day at the Skyhawks track meet! These are learning camps not training camps.

Lacrosse –Suit up and find out why lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. Lacrosse combines the basic skills used in soccer, basketball and hockey into one fast-paced, high-scoring game. Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting in a fun, non-checking environment. Participants must bring their own protective gloves, mouthpiece, helmet with full mask and a lacrosse stick.

Beginning Volleyball –All aspects of volleyball are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. This co-ed, outdoor program is designed for the beginning and intermediate player. Our staff will assist campers in developing fundamental skills through game-speed drills and daily scrimmages aimed at developing the whole player.
Participants must bring knee pads. This is a fundamental camp that will teach the basics of volleyball.

Start Smart Sports Development Programs
Ages 3 – 5
Start Smart Sports is developed by the National Alliance for Youth Sports, a leading authority for youth sports in the United States. Start Smart programs prepare children ages three through five for organized sports in a FUN, non-threatening environment. Parents must accompany and participate with the child allowing them to work one-on-one. A variety of general skills including throwing, catching, kicking and batting are incorporated. Exercises will be taught that become increasingly more difficult as the program progresses and children show improvement.
The program meets one day a week for six weeks. Classes will meet at Redstone Park.

Boys’ Lacrosse Camp
Need to sharpen your lacrosse skills? Learn through a summer camp led by Mountain Vista High School Boys’ Lacrosse Head Coach, José Trujillo, who will focus on teaching and sharpening the skills and strategies employed by the most successful lacrosse coaches and players. Whether you are a new or an experienced player, this camp will be a great experience. All campers are required to bring a stick, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, a helmet, gloves and arm pads. Participants should bring plenty of water! Camp is held at Shea Stadium.

Pre-Season Flag Football Camps
Sharpen your football skills by participating in pre-season flag football camps conducted by former professional quarterback T.J. Rubley. This non-contact camp will teach athletic skills, football skills, flag football formations, life skills, and are a blast for all kids five to 14 years old. The camp is recommended for all participants of the Metro District Youth Flag Football league as well as individuals interested in learning more about flag football.
